Sailing 4 Everyone is an Inclusive Sailing initiative that offers access to sailing to everyone, regardless of their ability. Sailing takes place in the World Sailing recognised Hansa 303 sailing boats
Through an initiative by Yachting Malta and in collaboration with the Malta Sailing Federation and local sailing Clubs, Malta has a fleet of four of these boats, making it possible for local Clubs to experience sailing first hand.
About the Hansa 303
The Hansa 303 is steered using a joystick and controlled by just two sheets: one for the Main sail and the other for the Jib. Both the helm and crew sit facing forwards for optimal control. With its low ballast and high sides, the 303 offers enhanced stability.
The Hansa 303 can be sailed solo or with two people, making it ideal for coaching sessions. Coaches can join the crew on board, allowing for on-water instruction and the ability to take full control of the boat when needed.
Accessibility
The specially designed launching crane provides easy access for individuals with physical disabilities.
It incorporates safety features to securely lift someone from a wheelchair and lower them directly into the seating position of the boat.
