Yachting Malta Strengthens Mediterranean Ties at 7th TYBA Yacht Charter Show in Marmaris

CEO Michael Mifsud represented Yachting Malta at one of the Eastern Mediterranean’s premier yachting events

Yachting Malta CEO Michael Mifsud attended the 7th edition of the TYBA Yacht Charter Show, held at Marmaris Muttaş Marina from 7 to 11 May, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to building strategic partnerships across the Mediterranean yachting industry.

Organised by the Yachting and Brokers Association of Türkiye (TYBA) in collaboration with ED Fair Organization, the show brought together charter brokers, yacht owners, industry professionals, and members of the international yachting press from nearly 20 countries. The event featured 52 charter yachts of up to 51 metres in length, alongside a comprehensive programme of seminars, networking sessions, and business development meetings.

Mifsud’s participation at the show reflects Yachting Malta’s ongoing proactive approach to engage with key players across the region, as Malta continues to position itself as a world-class yachting hub in the heart of the Mediterranean.

“Events like the TYBA Yacht Charter Show are invaluable opportunities to connect with the broader Mediterranean and global yachting community,” said Michael Mifsud, CEO of Yachting Malta. “Türkiye is a significant player in our shared sea, and fostering closer ties between our industries can only benefit both countries and the wider region. We look forward to exploring areas of collaboration with TYBA and the many professionals we had the pleasure of meeting in Marmaris.”

The show’s programme covered a wide range of topics relevant to the future of yachting, including discussions on berthing and mooring capacity for the growing global fleet, digital marketing in an AI-driven landscape, and legal and operational developments within the Turkish maritime sector. Cultural sessions exploring Türkiye’s viticultural heritage and its role in luxury tourism rounded out a rich and diverse agenda.

Malta and Türkiye share a deep connection through the Mediterranean — a sea that defines both nations’ maritime identities. Yachting Malta’s presence at the TYBA Show underscores the organisation’s recognition that the Eastern Mediterranean yachting market thrives when its stakeholders collaborate, share knowledge, and champion the region together on the world stage.

Yachting Malta looks forward to continued dialogue with TYBA and to welcoming partners from Türkiye and beyond to Malta’s own growing calendar of yachting events and initiatives.
