Yachting Malta partners with WAY Together project to champion inclusive tourism
Yachting Malta is proud to announce its partnership in the Walking and Yachting (WAY) Together project, an initiative dedicated to making tourism experiences more accessible and inclusive for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities.
The project, which is co-funded by the European Union – which unites stakeholders from Malta and Sicily, aims to develop inclusive tourism protocols that ensure everyone can enjoy meaningful and enriching experiences both on land and at sea. Yachting Malta has long recognised the role that sailing and boating can play in fostering inclusion, wellbeing, and a sense of adventure for all and this project brings in greater detail the work that is already being done locally to another leve.
The first Information Session will take place on 9th October 2025 at 9:00am at the AX The Victoria Hotel in Sliema.. This event will bring together individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions and their support networks, organisations in the fields of disability and inclusion, and tourism providers. It will be an opportunity to learn more about the WAY Together project, contribute feedback, and explore how inclusive practices can be applied in tourism—particularly through boating and outdoor activities.
As a partner, Yachting Malta is especially excited about the Pilot Activity in Malta: Boating Experience, which will showcase how the sea can become a welcoming and inclusive environment. This activity will form a core part of the project’s hands-on approach to developing accessible tourism experiences alongside participants.
The Information Session is free to attend and open to all those interested. The venue will be fully accessible, with refreshments provided.
