New Opportunities for Yachting Malta at Düsseldorf International Boat Show

Boat shows are an important event in the world of boating and yachting as they offer a unique opportunity for industry professionals, enthusiasts, and the general public to come together and explore the latest developments and innovations in the boating industry.

The Düsseldorf International Boat Show, more commonly known as Boot Düsseldorf,  welcomed  237,000 visitors from over 100 countries and more than 1,500 exhibitors from 68 nations on 220,000 square metres in 16 exhibition halls. It is no wonder that it is considered a benchmark for the international boat and water sports industry.

As part of its initiatives to develop a wider international presence and benefit from such wide exposure, Yachting Malta was present, engaging in a number of networking opportunities with other industry professionals thus paving the way to create opportunities for collaboration, partnership, and the exchange of ideas. The meeting with a large portion of the Malta Yachting Cluster was also beneficial where many topics were discussed.

Yachting Malta also participated in the Visit Malta stand at the show, where Yachting Malta personnel answered questions from show visitors primarily on Malta’s cruising and berthing facilities together with other questions relating to the Maltese Flag. This participation was made possible through the collaboration between Yachting Malta and Visit Malta where both entities are working together to position Malta as a Yachting destination of excellence.

“ The importance of boat shows cannot be overstated, as they provide a range of benefits for all involved. The time spent in Düsseldorf has been fruitful and augurs to be conducive to our ongoing efforts on developing Malta as a go to location for yachting” remarked Jonathan Borg, Chairman, Yachting Malta.

Other opportunities that the presence of Yachting Malta at the show enabled, included initial discussions for the official launching of new boats to the market being held in Malta. Again Yachting Malta is championing the local yachting industry and being the focal point for all Yachting related discussions.

Yachting Malta also used this opportunity to see the latest developments on sustainable yachting including alternative powering, marina management and the latest developments in foiling technology.
