The Directors of Yachting Malta paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Dr. George Vella, President of the Republic.
During their visit, Yachting Malta representatives has the opportunity to discuss the work that is being done in the yachting sector as part of its efforts to put Malta firmly on the international maritime map.

Towards the end of their visit, a donation to the Malta Community Chest Fund was presented to His Excellency.
The group was composed of six young sailors, three of which are currently on the Turkish National sailing team. The Team, which was accompanied by Coach Adriana Karamanlieva, trained in the waters outside Marsamxett in all conditions from Tuesday to Friday whilst Saturday and Sunday they participated in the National Dinghy Championships.
The utilisation of Malta as a training venue for European and other training teams is part of Yachting Malta’s policies. Malta is an excellent location for winter training for teams whose usual training areas are unaccessible in winter due to their climate.
This initiative was supported by the Ministry for Tourism, Yachting Malta and Malta Tourism Authority who hosted the team and coach for a presentation on the history of Malta, a guided walk around of Valletta followed by dinner.
Co-hosted by Yachting Malta and the Royal Malta Yacht Club, the Coastal Race Prize Giving took place on Wednesday 16th October at Verdala Palace, one of the historical palaces that dot the island of Malta, and which is the official summer residence of the President of Malta.
